Road to Self-Discovery

Road to Self-Discovery

Sometimes we do not realize what we have until it is too late.  Taking people for granted and not showing them appreciation and gratitude can make us suffer the consequences. We are so set in our daily routines; in the hustle and bustle of our affairs that we seem not to notice the small things that surround us. Nevertheless, lest not forget that the simple things are truly the most important in our lives; the people who love and care for us.
A simple “Thank you” can go a long way. Remember you are never too busy to say, “Hey Honey, I just wanted to thank you for this….” or pick up something at the nearest .99 store to show your appreciation, “Hey I picked this little trinket up to show you my appreciation.”  These tokens or gestures do make a difference to anyone especially to friends and family. It makes them feel that even though you both have hectic schedules, a simple “thank you” and an act of kindness can contribute to a less stressful day.
If you forget to show some gratitude, it can build walls between all parties involved and cause conflicts. It can cause misery in the home and a lot of tension. As time goes by, the people involved will not want to help you out with any favors, errands or any household tasks. They will definitely feel underappreciated and will not want to speak to you directly. There will be murmurs, (speaking under their breath) and/ or will have battles (scream at you to leave them alone).  The household will become chaotic and some involved will have some type of depressive issues because they will hold their feelings, unless they are like me! I speak my mind! I cannot keep anything inside if not I will implode!
If there are any frustrated members with factors such as mental illness and it builds up, then we definitely, have a problem. They have no control over their personality issues.  They are in constant need of approval and gratification. Therefore, that is like having a loaded gun and is detrimental to them. So always watch out for the people around you, say thank you and be courteous you never know who is in your court!
